We Love Jim Rollo!
A baking hot Twerton Park saw a plethora of former Romans (and a couple of current ones) return to the pitch today to celebrate the career of City legend Jim Rollo. With nearly 4800 appearances and 588 goals between them there were a few more greys hairs (and shaved heads) plus one or two tighter looking shirts but the turnout showed the high regard Jim is held at the club. The supporters who braved the high temperatures saw a Jim Rollo XI beat Jerry Gill’s South West All-Stars by two goals to one. First half goals from Lee Phillips and Darren Edwards gave Jim’s side a two goal lead before Jason Eaton pulled a goal back early in the second half. Andy Watkins was then denied an equaliser by an offside flag and Dave Gilroy saw a penalty saved by Ryan Clarke. You can view photos from the game here.
