U18s narrowly beaten in FA Youth Cup

City’s U18 side exited the FA Youth Cup this evening in a narrow defeat to Weston Super Mare at Twerton Park. The only goal of the game came on the half hour mark when Sanyang’s shot had just enough on it to beat keeper Alfie Hamblin. The visitors probably just about deserved this slender lead at the interval but the second half saw City gain the upper hand. However, despite a number of openings they couldn’t fashion an equaliser and Weston almost caught them on the break on several occasions. In the end neither side could add to the scoring leaving the Seagulls with the place in the 2nd Qualifying Round.
