FA Youth Cup hopes ended by Mangotsfield

City’s U18s exited the FA Youth Cup last night in a 3-1 defeat against Mangotsfield United at Twerton Park. The visitors got off to the perfect start when Alvez headed them in front from a 2nd minute corner and they extended their lead on 16 minutes when another corner saw McCrae stabbing the ball home from six yards. City got back into the game seven minutes before the interval when Cannings was tripped in the box and Jack Kelsey converted the resultant penalty. Mangotsfield won a penalty of their own on 57 minutes, Paradise felling Crosby in the area, but McCrae saw his spot kick saved by Kelsey. However, Billy Clarke’s side couldn’t take advantage of this miss as the Mangoes secured their place in the 3rd qualifying round when Lewis netted a third with ten minutes remaining.
