Robins inflict pre-season defeat on City
Two goals in the opening seven minutes sent City on the way to a first pre-season defeat against Bristol City U23s at Twerton Park this evening. After this early double blow City more than played their part in a competitive encounter, deservedly pulling a goal back ten minutes from time through Dan Hayfield’s stunning 25-yard free-kick. The Robins opened their account on two minutes when Yeboah was allowed the space to curl the ball past Ollie Wright. Then five minutes later the referee played a good advantage which saw former Romans loaner Marlee Francois race clear and make it 2-0. Shortly after Hayfield’s great strike, Cody Cooke’s header was superbly saved by Casa-Grande to deny City a late equaliser.
