Redevelopment Update

The Board, Redevelopment Working Group and Supporters Society have been busy trying to get the Twerton Park redevelopment back on track after the disappointment of the planning rejection back in March and the disruption of the pandemic. Together with our partners, Greenacre Capital, we looked very carefully at an appeal but have now dismissed the idea, to focus on working with the Planning executives in the Council on a new, smaller scale and more deliverable scheme.

We have made some initial top-line changes to the Club element of the scheme and Greenacre have reviewed what they think is a realistic scheme on the residential side that will overcome the concerns expressed by the Council. They are also looking at potential, additional partners to secure the financial support needed to get such a big scheme built in these tricky times, when confidence has been affected.

We will keep you as up to date as we can on any progress and we hope to have more news in the New Year. We recognise the redevelopment is critical for the long-term financial success of the Club, along with the FIFA Quality (3G) Pitch so are pushing as much as we can.
