Assistant Manager Lee joined City in September 2024 as goalkeeping coach. In November 2024 he was appointed caretaker manager following the departure of Jerry Gill before becoming assistant to Darren Way in December. He began his playing career with Crystal Palace where he also represented Wales at U16, U18, and U21 level. After a loan spell with Barry Town he joined Cardiff City for £50,000 in December 2000. He made a single first team appearance for the Bluebirds and, after a short spell with Shrewsbury Town, moved into non-league football with Haverfordwest County in 2003. He went to enjoy a long career in Welsh Football with Rhyl, Port Talbot Town and Neath, playing in the Champions League and Europa League. He initially began coaching in 2010 with Sheffield United, though returned to playing with Neath and Prestatyn before hanging up his gloves. He joined Cardiff City in 2012 to undertake the role of head academy goalkeeper coach. Spells as goalkeeping coach with Bristol City and England Women’s National Team followed. In December 2017 he took up the full-time position as Head Coach of the University of South Wales Men’s Football team. In June 2021 he was appointed goalkeeping coach with Fleetwood Town then a year later returned to Barry Town as assistant manager. He was prompted to manager in November 2022, leading the side to a league title, but left in July 2023. Since June 2022 he has held the position as Head of Football at Cardiff and the Vale College, a role he continues to occupy alongside his position at Twerton Park.
