Experienced striker Alex joined City in August 2024 following his release by Yeovil Town at the end of the 23/24 season. He began his career with Oxford United, working his way up through the youth ranks to reach the senior squad in 2007. He netted twice in 14 appearances for the first team but, after loan spells with Brackley Town and Oxford City, was released in 2009. Alex then joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain where he would play for Jerez Industrial in the fourth-tier Tercera División. The academy relocated to the UK in 2012 but he continued to play in Europe with Belgian sides KVK Tienen, KRC Mechelen and KSK Heist, before heading to Italy to play for AC Monza Brianza 1912. In June 2014 he returned to England, first signing for Mansfield Town, then a year later Torquay United. After being released from his contract at the end of 2016 he headed north of the border to spend spells with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Motherwell. Back in England he joined Yeovil Town in January 2018, making his debut against Manchester United. He was released at the end of the 2018/19 season to join Exeter City, where he spent two seasons before moving onto Newport County. In July 2022 he returned to Yeovil Town on a two-year deal. A serious leg injury in April 2023 side-lined him until early 2024, where he joined Oxford City on loan.
