Next Match – Weymouth (H)

It’s Student Night at Twerton Park this Tuesday with the centrepiece event seeing Bath City host Weymouth.

Both sides drew at the weekend, a result which leaves Weymouth propping up the table with five points from 11 games. Their solitary win was at Dorking Wanderers last month. Saturday’s 1-1 was against Chesham United with Charlie Rowan notching his second this term.

Bath City kept a sixth clean sheet in 11 league matches at Hornchurch – the joint highest in the division with Eastbourne Borough.

Harvey Wiles-Richards was responsible for that, with his stunning save from Liam Nash in added time preserving a shutout. Last season’s meeting at Twerton Park saw him line-up for Weymouth, while current Terras keeper Will Buse was in goal for Bath City. Buse has just extended his loan from Yeovil Town until January.

Tuesday is the 161st meeting between Bath City and Weymouth – they are the most faced opposition for the Romans from the 23 other sides in National League South.

Joe Raynes’ first goal in 127 games wasn’t enough as Bath City were held by Weymouth. The defender opened the scoring, prodding past his cousin Harvey Wiles-Richards to end a four-year drought. Weymouth levelled through Ezio Touray, four minutes following his introduction, as the managerless Terras improved after the break. They should have stolen the win late but Joel Rollinson inexplicably side-footed wide from six yards, letting the Romans off the hook.
