Next Match – Bristol City U21s (H)

Bath City begin their final week of pre-season friendlies by hosting Bristol City U21s.

Alex Ball’s side won 2-1 at Twerton Park last year. Two goals in the first seven minutes by Ephraim Yeboah and Marlee Francois were enough for the young Robins, with Dan Hayfield’s stunning late free-kick a mere consolation. It proved to be City’s only defeat last pre-season.

Yeboah ended the season on loan at Twerton, making 10 appearances and scoring twice – he’s the youngest player to net for City in National League South. Francois made four outings in 2021. The Australian winger was released in the summer having only made two cup appearances for the Championship side.

Bristol City’s line-up last year contained another seven who’d either already represented the Stripes or did after the fixture. The most standout was Ewan Clark, who came on as a substitute just over a year ago. He’ll return to face his former club, as will Harvey Wiles-Richards, the only player to play in every minute this summer for the Romans.

Gill will undoubtedly cast his eye over some of those turning out for the Robins at the weekend. Having built up a successful partnership with Bristol City since his appointment, Saturday could prove to be an opportunity to make the final few additions to his squad ahead of the season’s opener in two weeks’ time.

Tickets are available here, come along and see if Bath City can make it three wins in a row this summer!
