My Road to Wembley wends its way to Twerton Park
This weekend, we have My Road to Wembley joining us for our tie with Frome Town. Designed to help clubs connect with their local communities, My Road to Wembley keeps you up-to-date with FA cup games across the whole tournament.
Who are My Road to Wembley?
The FA Cup begins in August with, in some cases, less than a hundred fans in attendance at each game. In perhaps the most unique tournament in the world, these early matches have humble surroundings but are directly connected to the final in May.
With over 720 teams entering and being knocked out at different stages, knowing which team to follow and when is almost impossible. Who is your nearest team and if they fail to progress, who is your next nearest team?
My Road to Wembley solves these challenges; showing football fans who their nearest cup team is, which game is closest to them, and when those matches are being played.
The FA Cup is often the lifeblood of smaller clubs at the bottom of the footballing pyramid, providing an income directly from the FA and just as much through ticket receipts and matchday spend by attending fans.
With larger attendances across the FA Cup and heightened fan engagement My Road to Wembley aims to bring communities together and become the catalyst to enable grassroots football to flourish across the country.
We welcome My Road to Wembley to Twerton Park and aim to take them further into the competition with us.
