Late goals lift City back up second place

Second half goals from Chelsea Giles and Bronnie Cranfield, plus a first clean since October, saw City beat Wellington Ladies 2-0 this afternoon at Twerton Park to move back up to second place in the Somerset County WFL Division 1 table. After a quiet first half City took control after the break but it looked like keeper Worth would deny the Romans a much-needed win. However, with 14 minutes left she could only watch in horror as Giles’ cross flew over her into the net. And in stoppage time Cranfield knocked the ball past her before rolling it home from a narrow angle to secure the victory. You can read a full match report here.
