Late Concord goals leave City grounded
Two late goals saw City suffer a 3-1 defeat at Concord Rangers this afternoon. After a largely forgettable first half the game came to life after the interval. Within three minutes of the restart Kyei cut inside from the left flank and his shot found the net via Ryan Jones’ attempt to clear. However, within five minutes City levelled from the penalty spot, Alex Fletcher firing home after Omar Holness was tripped in the box. Neither side could get the upper hand after this and it looked like they would deservedly share the points, but with three minutes left Kyei repeated his earlier move, this time beating Ryan Clarke with no help from a defender. And in the final minute the same player ensured City’s trip to Essex would end empty-handed with a close range finish to make it 3-1.
