Last gasp strike denies City Havant win
A 97th minute equaliser for title-chasing Havant & Waterlooville denied City victory at The Draper Tools Community Stadium this evening. Two Scott Wilson goals had looked enough to secure the three points but 60 seconds after he was denied a hat-trick by a great Worner save, the home side bundled home a corner to spark delirious scenes from the Hawks players and bench. Wilson opened the scoring on 28 minutes in a similar fashion, stabbing the ball home after Havant failed to deal with a Chris Lines corner. Havant levelled in the 58th minute through Faal’s flicked finish from another corner. City regained the lead within two minutes as Wilson latched on to a De Bruyne-esq pass from Luke Spokes to steer the ball past Worner. Havant pressed forward after this but struggled to create many clear-cut chances and City continued to pose a threat on the break. Just when it looked like they would hold on Joe Wright tipped a long range shot over the bar and from the resultant corner Passley slid the ball home at the far post.
