Late Bellotti strike earns opening day draw

A stunning 20-yard free-kick deep in stoppage time from Mils Bellotti secured Bath City Women an opening day point in an action-packed 3-3 draw against Weymouth Women at a hot and sunny Twerton Park this afternoon. The visitors struck first on 14 minutes through McCann’s neat finish but goals from Libby Goater and Bellotti saw City go in the break ahead. Nine minutes into the second half Hunt ran clear to level the scores then with 14 minutes left Wilson repeated the trick to put the Terras back in front. Two great saves from keeper Marquis looked to be taking the points back to Dorset but Bellotti had other ideas.

Bath City Women’s Development side also began this 2023/24 season this afternoon, with a 3-2 win over Weston Super Mare Women Res, thanks to a Ceris Evans double and a late Chelsea Pearce goal.
