Join our Community of Matchday Volunteers

The new season is nearly upon us. We are all hoping for success on the pitch, but also for a great matchday experience as we cheer the team on from the terraces and the stands. We can only deliver that great experience if we have enough volunteers to do everything that our fans enjoy. As it stands, we are seriously under-resourced, so we would like every supporter to consider whether they would be willing to help us on matchdays, even for 30 minutes or an hour.

We have a variety of roles for which we need volunteers:

Turnstile Operator
We need to get everyone into the ground as quickly and efficiently as possible. We need turnstile operators to work from 1.45 to 3.15pm. If you would like to explore this role, please contact Andrew Pierce Andrew.pierce@techni-cal.co.uk or 07802 379349

Programme Sellers
We are going back to a 48-page programme with loads of fresh new content. To do the programme justice, we need more sellers to cover all parts of the ground from 2.15 until 3pm.

Matchday Hospitality
We need more people to serve food and drinks to our matchday hospitality guests in the TR Hayes and John Reynolds lounges. Prime time is 1.30 to 2.30pm

Flag-wavers
Our young supporters love being involved as the players take to the field. With ever-increasing numbers of youngsters keen to participate we need support with organisation. Timing is 2.30 until 3pm

Mascot
How about donning our mascot costume and joining in the pre-match fun entertaining the crowd? Timing is 2.15 until 3pm

PA Announcer
The indefatigable Mark Stillman needs support with the delivery of information over our PA system before, during and after the game, so from 2 until 5pm on Saturdays. We also need to provide the same coverage for our women’s matches, which are 2pm kick offs on Sundays, so 1.30 until 4pm

Ball Crew
Jerry and the players are very keen to see the return of ball crews to retrieve footballs and keep the game flowing. We need 4 people aged 12 to 21 at each game, from 2.45 until 5pm.
For programme sellers, matchday hospitality, flag-waving, mascot, PA and ball crew please contact Peter Headington peter.headington@bathcityfootballclub.co.uk or 07789 387724

Ticket Office and Club Shop
Many supporters collect pre-booked tickets from the ticket office. The club shop sells replica shirts and a wide variety of Bath City merchandise. Both the ticket office and club shop are under-staffed. If you would like to help between 2 and 3pm please contact Caroline White at caroline.white@bathcityfootballclub.co.uk or 07711 318090

In-ground bars (Stripes and Romans) and Supporters Tea-Bar
How about serving drinks and snacks to supporters while you watch the game? We need a few more people to help us deliver in-ground refreshments from 2.30 until 5pm. If you can spare an hour we can add you to the rotas. Please contact Donna Swaby donna.swaby@bathcityfootballclub.co.uk or call Cheryl Bradley in the office on 01225-423087

Supporters Club Draw Sellers
This is a vital income stream and contributes around £10k of the donation towards first team training facilities. We are looking for people to sell draw tickets between 2 and 3pm. Please contact Cheryl Bradley cheryl.bradley@bathcityfootballclub.co.uk or 01225-423087

Divot Replacers
Our ground staff would appreciate some help before the match and at half-time replacing divots. If you would like to assist, please contact Andrew Pierce Andrew.pierce@techni-cal.co.uk or 07802 379349

For most of these roles you will not miss a minute of the match. Volunteering is enjoyable and satisfying. It is the best way to feel a part of a wonderful community football club. We can’t pay you to fulfil these roles, but we can offer free entrance to the game and membership of a great team. What are you waiting for??!!
