Final message from Jerry Gill
It has been an absolute privilege to manage Bath City Football Club for the past seven years. With 5 years as a player and 7 as manager, the football club has been a huge part of my life. I hope everyone at the club has seen my loyalty throughout my time. I rejected two opportunities to move up the pyramid but I was always fully committed to the project at Bath City. I am super proud of all the achievements in those seven years as manager:
• Managing a total of 335 games with a win percentage of 44%
• Reaching the NLS Play-offs on three separate occasions
• Selling nine players in total transfer fees of over 100k
• Increased attendances from 600 to 1,400
• Winning the Somerset Premier Cup
• Numerous loans now playing in the Premier League or EFL
• Implementing a training ground environment with excelling MDT departments
• Introducing a “Bath City Way” philosophy.
I also want to say a special mention to Paul Williams who has not only been my go-to football chairman consistently everyday but also a very good friend of mine, always there to listen and advise if needed. I want to mention Quentin Edwards as well, as he was always there to assist with getting deals over the line no matter what.
My thanks go to my loyal management team: Jim, Lee Williams, Az, Si, Jon and Sar and recently Lee Kendall, who have worked tirelessly and supported me throughout. The media team, who are the best in the league, Matt, Dave and Mark are genuine guys who have always been there and work so hard behind the scenes. There are too many staff and volunteers at the stadium to mention but I want to thank every single one of them for their hard work.
Of course, I want to thank all the supporters. It is your club and I always gave all I had for it. I hope I gave you some good memories along the way, you are all very much appreciated. Please continue to get behind the staff and players going forward as you make the difference.
Lastly, to all the players I have worked with during my time: you have excited me, energised me and made me proud to lead this club. Thanks for all your efforts and commitment; being a part time non-league player is challenging and it takes lots of sacrifices and dedication to be able to perform at your best. Thanks for all you gave me and the club.
I want to wish everyone at the football club nothing but the very best going forward, Twerton Park will always have a special place in my heart that I proudly call home.
Once a Roman always a Roman.
