Don’t miss your shot urge City footballers
Footballers from Bath City FC have told fans: Don’t miss your shot, in a new film from Bath and North East Somerset Council.
As more information is released about the Spring booster campaign, which is open to people aged 75 years and over, those in care homes and those aged 12 years and over with a weakened immune system, players are reminding fans how great it’s been to have them back in the stadium and that this has been largely due to the Covid-19 vaccines.

Made in partnership with Royal United Hospital Bath and the football club, players have reminded fans about the importance of taking one for the team, and making sure they get their vaccination to protect friends, family, and themselves.
And it’s not too late. Thousands of people across the district are yet to received their first, second or booster jab, but going online to book an appointment, or to find a walk-in clinic, is easy.
Councillor Dine Romero, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Communities and Culture said:
“The vaccination programme has reached out to thousands of people across the district over the last year, but we know there are still many more who are yet to get their first vaccination. Many of these are people who just haven’t got round to it yet. But it’s not too late, get vaccinated, get boosted and get protected.
“With the government removing the remaining legal restrictions around coronavirus, vaccination becomes even more important. It remains our best defence against Covid-19 and reduces the risk of severe illness and hospital admission.
Jerry Gill, manager of Bath City FC, said:
“We’re so grateful to everyone who has worked so hard on the vaccination programme over the last year – and everyone who has gone out to get their jab. With these vaccines, we have been able to see a return of fans to the stadium which is so important in football. The last thing we want now is for restrictions to return, so it’s still really important that everyone who’s eligible takes one for the team and gets their shot.”
