City Women aiming to set stadium record
On March 9th, the day after International Women’s Day, Bath City Women will play their 31st game at home since they were formed in the 2022/23 season. With the support of sponsor Bath Spa University, we are calling on football fans to help us break the attendance record for a women’s game at Twerton Park.
Tickets bought online in advance are being reduced by 50% to just £1.50 and all advance purchasers will go into a draw to win a BCFC walking out jacket, courtesy of Bath Spa Uni. Season ticket holders and U16s get free entry.
The largest attendance to date was 232 against Purton last season in a mid-week game played under the lights but the club is hoping to beat this. for the game on March 9th against SGS Olveston.
Matt Francis, Comms, PR and Social Media Officer Bath Spa Uni said; “We are very proud of our support for Bath City Women which is now in its third season. To mark International Women’s Day, we’re holding a panel on Women’s Sport on March 6th with Tara Taylor, First Team captain taking part. Then on March 9th we want a big turn-out of students to help promote the women’s game and support the team.”
Tara Taylor said; “Playing at Twerton Park is a privilege and shows how committed the club is to women’s football. There’s a great atmosphere and we have a loyal following with crowds bigger than any others in our league. It would be fantastic if people came along on March 9th and help us to get our biggest crowd yet.”
