City v Slough Town Match Preview
The Romans return to Twerton Park for the first time since that record-breaking match against Torquay where City were triumphant in front of 3,492 fans. This time Slough Town are the visitors in the Vanarama National League South. Kick off – 3pm!
After the narrow defeat at Concord Rangers last weekend, Jerry Gill’s men will be keen to bounce back when they face The Rebels on home turf.
The Romans and The Rebels shared the spoils at Arbor Park in January after playing out a tight 0-0 draw – City’s first away stalemate in 89 matches! A threadbare squad were more than deserving of a point that evening, with Freddie Hinds impressing on his debut. Since then, Slough have won just one of their last seven league games which has seen them drop from 10th to 12th in the league table. The departure of prolific frontman James Dobson, sold to Sutton United for an undisclosed fee, may well have had an effect on recent results. With both sides needing a win to get back on track, it’s likely to be an unmissable fixture!
