City v Chippenham Town – The A4 Derby – Matchday Information
On Boxing Day, Twerton Park hosts part one of the eagerly anticipated A4 Derby! Bath City take on local rivals Chippenham Town in the Vanarama National League South. Kick off – 3pm!
With City running out late winners at Eastbourne last weekend, we’re now in 4th place and in a rich vein of form. Tom Smith’s superb equaliser and Alex Hartridge’s injury time winner mean The Romans have won four and drawn two of their last six matches and have only lost one of the last 13.
Visitors Chippenham suffered a New Year’s Day to forget in the last festive fixture between the two sides as Ross Stearn and Adam Mann contributed to a 5-0 drubbing. But City fans won’t want reminding of the previous visit by The Bluebirds in 2017 (look it up if you must!) so know to be ready for a tough encounter.
Chippenham are currently in 17th place in the league after suffering an autumn dip in form, before recording a first league win since 12th October when they beat Chelmsford 2-1 at home yesterday.
We’re laying on a hog roast and a crepe and coffee stall as well as the usual Mo-Be-Que and Supporters Club Tea Bar footie fare to make sure everyone’s catered for in what we’re hoping to be a bumper crowd. Please buy tickets in advance if you can and arrive in good time for kick off.
