City tap into World Cup buzz with schools roadshow
School children from across Bath will be able to practice their penalty kicks this summer thanks to Bath City FC.
The Club will be inviting young football fans to try their luck at penalty shootouts as we take our popular Beat-the-Goalie inflatable on a roadshow of Bath, with the game available to try at summer fayres across the city over the next two months. We’ve already visited Oldfield Park Junior School and Bathwick St Mary’s (pictured) and created quite a stir.
Children will be able to try and score to be in with a chance of winning a prize such as a signed football or match tickets for next season. There’s also the speed camera to test their power.
Carole Banwell, General Manager, said “With World Cup fever about to take over the country this summer we are really pleased to be taking our new Beat-the-Goalie game on a tour of schools across Bath.
“Children of all ages will be able to try their hand at a penalty shootout with a chance of winning some Bath City goodies from signed footballs to match tickets. Adults will also be able to join in the fun and see if they could be a reliable penalty taker for Gareth Southgate’s team.”
All money raised through Beat the Goalie will be given directly to the schools’ PTAs.
Beat-the-Goalie will be at the following school fayres:
- Saturday 16th June Newbridge School
- Sunday 24th June St Mary’s Catholic Primary
- Friday 29th June Twerton Infants
- Saturday 30th June Weston All Saints Primary (WASPS)
- Thursday 12th July St Andrew’s Primary
- Saturday 14th July Oldfield Park Infants
Our Beat-the-Goalie will also be available to try at the Bath City Farm Family Fun Day on Saturday 7th July and the Bath Boules tournament on Sunday 17th June.
