Boco loss denies City Dev Final place
Bath City Women’s Development side missed out on a Chairman’s Cup final place in a 2-1 defeat against AEK Boco Ladies Development this afternoon at a hot and sunny Twerton Park. After a goalless first half the visitors went in front on 55 minutes when a free-kick struck the bar before bouncing in off the unfortunate Poppy Yates’ back. Ten minutes later City thought they levelled when Hari Sabic won possession before stabbing the ball home. The referee initially awarded the goal but with City lining up for the restart he went to speak to his assistant and then disallowed it for a foul on the defender. AEK Boco then made it 2-0 after 75 minutes from another free-kick that his the post then spun into the net. With three minutes left Sabic pulled a goal back but despite considerable additional time they couldn’t find an equaliser and deny the Bristol-based side the win.
The 1st team also went down by two goals to one in the their penultimate league game of the season at Stockwood Wanderers this afternoon. Tara Taylor netting the goal for the Romans.
