BOB Fest held in Charlie’s and Randall’s at Twerton Park
Every two years, punks from Bremen (Germany), Oakland (California) and Bath meet up for a celebratory weekend festival known as B.O.B. fest which also raises money for charity. This event has been running for over twenty years. This time around, it was Bath’s turn and over 250 punks from all over spent a joyous weekend listening and moshing to some of the best bands from the three cities, while raising nearly £3000. Finding a venue in Bath for such an event is not easy these days, especially as the vibe of the festival needs to facilitate a relaxed atmosphere with friends meeting up for a good chat and catch-up over a pint or several as well as a bunch of good-humoured loons ripping it up on the dance-floor to some wonderfully-cathartic noise, but they found the perfect location in Charlie’s and Randall’s at Twerton Park.
Organiser Nick Foot said, “Bath City Football Club – Randall’s and Charlie’s – was the ideal venue: affordable, flexible, practical and professional. All the staff – logistics, bar and security – were great, and we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Kitchen facilities made feeding the bands and crew very simple, and the bar even accommodated specially-produced BOBslayer cider to be sold.”
He added, “Other events I have attended at BCFC have been similarly excellent, and we’ll be back again. Thanks!”
