City travel to Essex tomorrow for the second time in seven days when they take on Billericay Town in the Vanarama National League South. Kick off – 3pm!
Harry Wheeler’s Town currently sit in third place having won five, drawn two and lost two of their opening nine fixtures. In their last fixture, a 70th minute Moses Emmanuel strike was enough to earn 10-man Billericay a point against Essex rivals Chelmsford City on Monday evening.
Last December, City fell to defeat at Twerton Park despite Ross Stearn’s opener in the 9th minute. The aforementioned Emmanuel equalised just five minutes later and a freak goal from Sam Deering in the second half gave Billericay an early Christmas present in the form of three points.
It was a different story in the reverse fixture however as Jerry Gill’s men produced arguably one of their finest away performances to end the regular 2019/20 season. A dominant display at New Lodge featured second half goals from Robbie Cundy and Tom Smith which sealed City’s place in the play-offs.
