The season will start on September 3rd. They will play their home games at Lansdown South, the pitches that Bath City Youth have recently taken over, with at least one fixture at Twerton Park before the end of their season.
Bath City Women Manager, Matt Abreu said; ‘I’m delighted that next season we will have a development team playing in the county league. We are adopting a whole squad approach with joint training sessions to ensure there is a playing style embedded throughout both our teams. The Development team means that everyone will get enough game time to progress and challenge themselves. All first team places will be up for grabs, this is about developing each and every Bath City Women player to reach their potential.
‘I’m also looking forward to working with a couple of our experienced players to support their coaching and management development. We are also recruiting a young coach to support the development team and be mentored by Adam and me.’
Jane Jones, Community Director at the club said: ‘Just over a year ago, we set out to grow and develop the women’s game here in Bath and I’m excited by our plans to do this with both our teams for the coming season. None of this would be possible with the support of our founding partner Novia, so thank you to them for the faith they are showing in us’
Tracey Hartnett, who was part of the playing squad last season will manage the development team on match days, with the support of Ali Diegutis (Player coach). Hartnett has experience of managing at County League level having started Wells City Ladies and led them through two promotions before joining Bath City Women.
Any player interested in finding out more about Bath City Women should register here for the recruitment day on Sunday July 9th at Twerton Park.
