City Women celebrate successful 1st season

The Bath City Women team celebrated a successful inaugural season with family and friends at their End of Season Awards Presentation, held at Twerton Park on Wednesday May 10th.

The team, only formed in July 2022, played their first season in Division 1 of the Somerset County Women’s League and finished second behind reigning champions Pen Mill. Before the awards were presented, Manager Matt Abreu praised the team for the spirit that they had shown and said that they had confounded expectations with their league position.

Captain Tara Taylor thanked the team and the club for all their efforts, stating that this was the best supported team she had ever played in, with the strongest team spirit.

Jane Jones, Community Director at the club, thanked founding partner Novia for their support without which the team could not have been founded. Patrick Mill (CEO) and Michala Griffin (Head of Communications and Engagement) from Novia both attended and helped to present the awards.

Next season there will also be a Development team. Anyone interested in playing for Bath City Women should register for the Recruitment Day on July 9th.
