Erin Duffy and Koz Thorner-Atkinson were on target as Bath City Women marked their 50th competitive fixture with a win.

The Romans moved up to fourth following a dominant display at Twerton Park.

They ended the game with 10 players following a late sin bin for Bex Fry, but ultimately did more than enough to earn three points in their final match of 2024.

Amy Key and Fry shot too close to Leah Haney-Wilcox early on from distance but the visiting keeper was powerless to prevent the next telling strike from outside the box.

After Thorner-Atkinson was tripped by Anna Margetts, Duffy stepped up and perfectly looped her-free-kick home from 20 yards.

Goater’s effort on the term was well tipped away by Haney-Wilcox and the attacking midfielder was denied by the away stopper after Duffy’s cross picked her out in the box.

City made it 2-0 on 51 minutes. Maddy Brown’s corner just missed Abby Gray and Fry laid it off for Thorner-Atkinson, who smartly drove home from 10 yards.

Haney-Wilcox clutched Duffy’s free-kick after an initial fumble before Matt Abreu’s side inadvertently gifted Cirencester a way back into the game.

Amelia Dudding’s corner towards the near post was flicked in by Goater past her own goalkeeper, taking the shine off an otherwise decent display.

Tara Taylor ballooned over after a one-two with Goater as the captain looked to mark her own half century with a goal.

A lapse at the back nearly proved costly as Amy Key’s pass was missed by Gray, but Shannon King shot tamely at Sadie Farley.

Fry was sin binned in added time but City dealt with a couple of late set-pieces without the centre-back to run out deserved victors.
