Away trip to Dartford
City’s last Saturday away fixture of the season is potentially their toughest as they travel to Princes Park to take on high flying Dartford. The Darts are in a two horse race with Havant & Waterlooville for the league title and currently hold a three point advantage over the Hampshire side, albeit having played one game more.
Despite their fine home record this season, Dartford should be wary of the fact that only three clubs have a better return from their travels than City. This should give our players and travelling supporters some confidence at a ground where we have performed poorly on our two previous visits and returned pointless.
Princes Park is certainly very different to the old Watling Street ground which City were regular visitors to for some sixty years and is widely regarded as the best in the league. Unlike many new grounds this one has character and provides comfort for both seating and standing spectators. It was constructed with the environment in mind and is famous for its ‘wooden man’ who appears to be holding up the roof above the standing terrace!
A detailed description of the ground can be found at…
