Bath City FC brings on board Bath tourism chief executive
David James, CEO of Bath Tourism Plus Limited*, has joined the board at Bath City Football Club as a director with a focus on Food, Beverage and Hospitality areas. Also, he will offer significant marketing and tourism experience to the community-owned club. David’s role as director will be on a voluntary basis.
Nick Blofeld, Chairman at Bath City FC, commented on the appointment, “David is a great addition to the club, and will be a prominent ambassador for us around the City. His skills and expertise in sports facility management and tourism will help us to keep developing our supporters and guest experience at Twerton, and help enable the club to keep growing.”
Before joining Bath Tourism Plus, David was CEO of the Peak District Tourist Board for 10 years, and performed a number of managerial roles in the sports and leisure sector, including responsibility for all catering and ‘front of house’ services at Sheffield International Venues and Nottingham Arena and the National Ice Centre.
David James said, “Bath City is a club with huge potential. Already it has real momentum and I’m excited about playing a part in helping both the club and the local community to thrive. My son, Ben, was at the Bath City Academy last season, and I’ve always enjoyed my trips to Twerton Park.
“Football is the beautiful game, and something I feel passionate about, so I want to put something back into it.”
David’s appointment was made by the Bath City Supporters Society, and brings the Board up to its full nine-member strength.
