Record Breaker Louis Sweeten

It was a memorable day at Boreham Wood for 16 year old Louis Sweeten who became the youngest player to appear for the Club in National League South, when making a second half substitute appearance.

Louis turned 16 in September and after leaving Bristol City reached out to have a trial in October last year with Bath City Academy. It was clear that Louis had a lot of potential and he made a number of impressive appearances for the U18s in the South West Counties league on a Saturday morning.

In January 2024 Louis earned the opportunity to train with the first team. He impressed Jerry, resulting in him training regularly for the remainder of last season to enhance his development. Having been included in the first team squad at the end of last season Louis has been involved throughout this pre-season.

After completing his GCSEs Louis will begin his first year with the Bath City Academy programme in September where he will complete his education at Bath College.

With Harvey Wiles-Richards having come through the same academy programme, we hope to see further players make the same progression.
