Alex Fletcher announces retirement
The entire Bath City family sends Alex all the very best as he starts a new chapter in his life. As a player, he provided so much joy to all of us, and as a man inspired us all with his determination and resilience. There will always be a warm welcome for him at Twerton Park.
Manager Jerry Gill said: “It was a night at Twerton Park that will live long in all our memories. Alex showed incredible bravery and resilience to pull through from that moment, something he had displayed as a player for us on the field each time he put on a Romans shirt, giving his all because of the type of man he is.
His recovery has been extraordinary, we are all super proud of how he defied the odds and kept jumping every hurdle he faced. I am so happy he can have a quality of life to share with Ellie and their beautiful new baby boy Lorenzo. Alex you have been and inspiration to us all and will continue to be so. Take care mate”
