League leaders inflict first home defeat
League leaders Poole Town Ladies inflicted a first home defeat of the season on City thanks to a goal in each half at a damp Twerton Park. City gave a good account of themselves against the high-flying Dorset side but fell behind on 37 minutes when a quick break saw Collison slide in Williams to shoot past Sadie Farley. Earlier in the second half City had strong penalty appeals waved away by the referee when a Poole defender appeared to block a shot on the line with her arm. And the visitors took full advantage of this escape just before the hour mark when a low cross from Coulter was turned into her own net by Mils Bellotti to double their lead. City continued to push for a way back into the game but Poole stood firm to record their eighth win in ten games.
The development side drew 1-1 with Berrow at Peasdown Recreation Ground, with Ceris Evans on target for the Romans.
