City slip to narrow Wells City Ladies defeat
Vicky Goody’s close range finish saw Wells City Ladies overcome Bath City Women this afternoon at Strode College. The midfielder pounced on a loose ball from a corner to fire home a 26th minute winner on the 3G in Street. Wells keeper Lucy Nurse had already produced a marvelous save from Tamzin Dunne’s dipping effort and the stopper was superbly protected by her defence after her side’s opening goal, with Emily Bristow twice going close in the second half as Matt Abreu’s side enjoyed a lot of possession but found openings tough against a resilient backline. Bristow appeared to be upended by Issy Dyer in the closing stages but no penalty was awarded as the Blues hung on to move closer to the Romans in the table.
