Stunning Taylor strike secures Cup progress

A great strike from Tara Taylor just before half-time saw Bath City Women beat Highridge United Ladies 1-0 in the Womens Junior Cup at Twerton Park this afternoon. A dominant first half performance saw City create chance after chance but it wasn’t until the 42nd minute that captain Taylor let fly from 30 yards to finally break the deadlock. The visitors posed a greater threat after the break but rarely troubled Sophie Campbell in the City goal and only more wayward finishing from the Romans prevented a more comfortable final scoreline.
