Former player Dave Singleton passes away
The club was very sad to hear that former player Dave Singleton passed away at the weekend. Dave signed for City in November 1981 from Weymouth and went on to spend 12 years at Twerton Park, making 415 appearances and scoring nearly 100 goals. Manager Jerry Gill, who played alongside Dave at City during the early 1990s, paid tribute to him following Saturday’s game against Slough Town, saying, “Dave wore his heart on his sleeve and was the life and soul of the party. We had so much fun on away trip coaches and a lot of stuff that was so much fun we couldn’t even talk about these days because the game’s changed!”
The club will mark his passing when they face Weymouth on Tuesday 13 September.
The thoughts of all connected with the Club are with Dave’s family and friends at this sad time.
