Next Match – Slough Town – Home
Just 48 hours after their fine performance at Farnborough, City return to action on Bank Holiday Monday when they welcome Slough Town to Twerton Park for an afternoon kick off.
Saturday’s win in Hampshire was the third in four outings and the Club will be hoping for an excellent turn out from supporters against opponents who also appear to have hit form.
The Rebels, with seven points from their five matches, followed up last Saturday’s win at Dulwich with a 3-1 victory over newly promoted Cheshunt, two of the goals scored by Johnny Goddard who was recently signed from St Albans.
The Berkshire club are led by Jon Underwood and Neil Baker, the only joint management team in the division, who have overseen two promotions for the club plus two appearances in the FA Cup 2nd round.
They spent most of last season in midtable, finally finishing in 13th place with the highlights probably being the achieving of the double over champions Maidstone.
Having lost 2-0 at Arbor Park in the Autumn, City produced one of their best performances in the return at Twerton when only goalkeeper Jonathan North’s masterclass kept his side in the match which ended 1-1, the home goal coming from Alex Fletcher.
Of course North faced us many times for Wealdstone, including in the play off eliminator in 2019.
With fine weather forecast for the last holiday of the summer what better way to spend it than roaring the City home to another win!
