Chairman hails generosity of City fans as Bounce Back Appeal tops £36,000
Chairman Nick Blofeld has today thanked Bath City fans for raising over £36,000* to help the Club deal with essential repairs, pay for League fines and prepare for the 2021/22 season.
“I would just like to re-iterate my personal thanks, as well as those of the Board’s, yet again, to the amazing generosity of all our supporters in so quickly getting us over the initial target in the appeal and on to another £11,000, to make the necessary repairs to Twerton Park and pay the ridiculous fines. This success ensures we have the funds to pay for the identified work to be able to re-open and welcome back as many supporters (as legally allowed!) for the pre-season friendlies and the new season.
You’ll be pleased to hear we submitted our appeal against the crazy fines earlier this month and hope the FA shows us some empathy and understanding of our situation. And finally, a huge thanks to all those who have been able to offer their time and labour to help with getting some of the physical work done at the ground.”
Jerry Gill tweeted his own thanks, “What amazing supporters we have at our club. Thank you so so much for your kindness. Can’t wait to see you all in big numbers for our first pre-season game at Twerton Park.”
Over 130 season ticket holders and TR Hayes Lounge members have donated all or part of the cost of their 20/21 ticket to the Club, while another 170 fans have made cash donations on the Crowdfunder site. Qualifying donors are listed on the Roll of Honour on the Club site www.bathcityfc.com/bath-city-bounce-back-appeal-roll-of-honour/. Thanks also to the Bath City FC Supporters Club for their donation of £300.
The Bath City FC Bounce Back Appeal runs until 13th May and the target has now been extended to £40,000 to enable supporters to contribute towards giving the team the best possible foundations for the new season.
