Jerry calls on the Romans to turn out in numbers this Saturday
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – the big league kick-off against Braintree Town. After a testing series of friendlies against some high quality opposition, our squad of new and established players has bedded in and is ready to begin the new campaign.
Our manager, Jerry Gill, had this to say ahead of Saturday:
“To all the Romans on the eve of a new season. Please come along and get behind our newly assembled squad. We’re aiming to go better than last season’s 5th position play-off spot and without your support this would prove difficult. Let’s set the tone on and off the pitch this Saturday at Twerton Park v Braintree with a big turnout.
We’ve seen our average home attendance increase to 1100 and amazingly have already sold over 270 season tickets, up 50% on this time last season. So let’s keep the momentum going forward.
See you all there, Jerry”
With the early kick-off to the season meaning a number of people will be on holiday, we’re really hoping that if you’re in town, you can make it to the match and bring as many friends and family along with you as possible. Last season we opened with an attendance of 828 for the visit of Dartford – please help us to top that crowd and get us off to a flyer. Thank you.
