An end of season message from the Chairman
Thank you all for your support in this amazing season
Now that the dust has settled a little and after a great season for Bath City, I wanted to say a huge thank-you to everyone who has supported us on and off the pitch.
We have seen a lot of new faces down at Twerton Park over the past ten months, which is great news, adding to our “loyalists” who have been coming for many years, through thick and thin. Thank you to everyone who has come along to a match and spent your hard-earned money with us – we truly appreciated it. And thanks also to everyone who has travelled to support the team across the country.
Reaching Wednesday’s play-off was another step in the right direction and real progress. Despite being a disappointing result on the night, we still ended the season on 71 points and it was our highest league position for seven years. We also had the highest number of clean sheets in the league and you provided us with the highest average league crowds at Twerton for 40 Years!
So special thanks to Jerry, Jim, the players and support staff, for playing an attractive style of football throughout the season that also brought us great results.
To the “off pitch” supporters too, all those volunteers who have helped us make such good progress on the sales, marketing and commercial side, plus all the work on the operational side of things, and of course the redevelopment too, a big thanks as well. There will be more news over the coming weeks and months on the redevelopment plans, as they now get submitted as a formal planning application and we will await official feedback and comment. So please watch out for further news as we will need your support in commenting on the application and writing to your councillors!
Lastly, we hope to see plenty of you at the Presentation Evening on Friday 10th May, a great chance to personally thank the players and coaches for the season and the perfect way to cap off a positive 2018/19.
Thanks and all the best,
Nick Blofeld
